Pet Health Certificates for Domestic and International Travel

Cat in Paper BagIf you’d like to take a trip with your dog or cat, Arlington Animal Hospital can provide the domestic or international health certificate you’ll need to bring your pet along. We will be happy to walk you through the steps necessary to acquiring the certification. Depending on where you travel, whether to another state or to a foreign country, there could be unique vaccines and tests that may be required before you travel. All certificates will require a physical examination in which your pet is deemed suitable for travel. Contact us to start the process of generating your pet’s travel certificate.

Before You Visit

  • Know your destination, have a confirmed itinerary, and begin the travel certification process as soon as possible.
  • For international travelers, visit the website of the United States Department of Agriculture to research which tests, vaccines, documents, and inspections are required by your destination country and the timeline in which they must be completed.
  • International travelers should also visit the website for the Center for Disease Control to check whether the U.S. law mandates re-entry requirements for the country you will return from.
